Sultan Palace is the first exclusive Relais & Chateaux hotel in East Africa, situated on the East Coast of Zanzibar and is approximately 60 kilometres from the airport. The 15 'Nautilus' shell shaped cottages are elegantly furnished with local antique furniture including the carved Omanite doors and Zanzibari beds. All cottages are air conditioned with private verandahs, mini-bar, ceiling fans, hairdryer and en-suite bathrooms with showers.

There are five Imperial Suites, each overlooking the Indian Ocean with queen sized beds, bathroom with twin showers and a private garden with hammock. Four Ocean Suites with single shower and double beds and six Garden Suites, overlooking the tropical gardens, with queen or twin beds complete the room compilation. The main building, with splendid terraces welcomes guests into the lounge, which offers a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean. On the first floor there is a restaurant with terraces while on the beach you will find a bar and restaurant.

With direct beach access enjoy swimming, snorkelling and going on boat trips along the canal. Diving is available in a professional centre and on request deep-sea fishing can be arranged. Sultan Palace also offers the unique opportunity to rent a vehicle to explore the magic spice island. Activities are not included in the nightly rate and are subject to extra charge.
