Activities at Kipungani Explorer Lodge
Kipungani Lamu enjoys a uniquely harmonious relationship with the residents of neighbouring Kipungani Village. Twelve of the lodge's 25 staff members come from the village, from where seafood is bought as well as the materials for repairing the buildings.
This Kenya lodge has been responsible for building and equipping the Kipungani Primary School through the charitable 'twinning project' with the London nursery school, paint pots.
Kipungani is also involved in projects to replant indigenous trees and to do a project on the nesting sites of Lamu's endangered sea turtles.
